Thank you for the kind words, Ronald. This seriously means a lot to me. I think "emotion, weight and intensity" is one of the best ways I've heard someone describe my writing (better than me!)
"Then, with a glimmer of hope, seeing new stars align. Beginning to believe all the prior failures set you up for this new exciting thing… Only to fail again. To feel like a fool. To be ripped from another storyline. Rebuild again. "
I can't express how much I needed to read this. At this exact moment. I felt kindly understood. Thank you for sharing!
I find it hard to judge quality. And future potential I suppose. To know if I’m actually good or just deceiving myself. If I’ll be able to “make it” (whatever that means). If my work matters.
Writing is hard. Give yourself space. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Have fun while finding your voice. Don't think about the outcome. Feel your words. Keep being delusional. It's good. Your writing is good. Trust the process. From one anxious human to another.
“Like the universe has an utter disregard for your feelings, your hopes, your dreams. Like it doesn’t notice or doesn’t care about how badly you wanted something to work out.”
You’re right, the university doesn’t care. I may care, and you may care - but the universe? Na.
You think you’re stuck? The universe doesn’t think so.. You think you’re a failure? The universe rolls its eyes.. You think you’re on track to nihilism? The universe doesn’t give a crap!
Life is how you see it.. If you think rejection is amazing, then it is! My advice is listen to your gut (not your brain). What does it tell you?
PS: Sounds like you have amazing imaginative powers .. I wonder what you can apply it to!
Thank you so much, Leo, for this beautiful reflection.
I agree completely. Life really is how you see it. Your perception dictates reality, in a very real way. And listening to your gut, especially once it's developed, is one of the best ways to navigate this messy, complex world.
Interesting question! I'll have to think more on it...
Damn... your writing truly is a gift! You explain your thoughts with so much emotion, weight and intensity! Truly a pleasure and beauty to read 💙
You deserve every bit of this compliment because you've worked hard and consistently to hone your writing skills! 💪🏻

Terra! Wow this was so nice to read. Brought a big smile to my face. I forgot about this piece but I’m so glad you resurfaced it.
I’m so glad it resonated. One of my main goals with writing is to make people feel seen, understood.
I really appreciate you reading (: means a lot
I binge read half of your Substack in a day. I do that whenever I discover commonalities. You definetly have a way with words. Keep doing it.
That’s so special to hear. Sometimes I seriously doubt myself as a writer (like today)
A little encouragement goes a long way.
Thank you
why ? what made you doubt it?
"6. There’s no such thing as an “aspiring” writer — if you write, you’re a writer and if you don’t, you’re not."
I got this from the link you shared "40 One-Sentence Writing Tips: Advice for anyone who writes anything."

Not sure if that resonates.
