I wonder what Camus’ lesson was that “winter” that led him to discover his “invincible summer”? Interesting continuum - heavy left, light right, a straight line, y axis empty... Love that you are discovering the self you are learning to embrace. Be Heavy - its who you are. If you embrace it, it will feel lighter.
Great question. One of the tenets of Buddhism is that life is suffering. Perhaps Camus saw the beauty / meaningfulness of his suffering, and was able to transcend it.
Embracing who you are (instead of who you'd like to be) is an idea I'm continually grappling with.

I hadn't really thought of it like that so explicitly before, but I agree that it's a very intuitive way to articulate why I'm drawn to certain people/personalities. So thanks for that! Ever since I began to think about the heaviness/lightness duality, it's patterned a lot of my thinking about relationships. You're spot on about its intuitive nature. I was hesitant to even write about it because I think we all have such a deep felt sense of it that words may only spoil the idea.
Great stuff, Tommy. On lightness, I can say it’s not something to force ourselves into. It should come by itself (as light as this idea is). This at least has been my own experience.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I don't think we can force our nature. In fact, I think trying to can propel us precisely in the wrong direction.
I hung onto that poem for a while, but as I've recently refamiliarized myself with the pain of separation, I figured it may soothe someone as it soothed me.
