I've lived in 18 different cities over the past 2 years and I feel the same. Modern cities create loneliness. The movie "Shame" from Steve McQueen is a perfect example of what it looks like in NYC.

And very interesting! I've noticed there seems to be a pervasive loneliness that haunts our time but connecting that thread to cities is fascinating.
Read something similar yesterday from one of my favorite writers: "We’ll look back on this period of our history with a compassionate sadness for how we designed our cities and social fabric, and for how isolated it made us."
