Hi, I liked the imagery and how well you’ve structured your essay and also your calls to action. This was a line that resonates: “I’ve never been a particularly fast or agile fellow, preferring the library to track and field.”

I got shot playing the equivalent of Nicky Nine Doors when I was a kid--as harrowing as your experience was, we both got off lucky!

I can't believe I missed this comment Chris.

Your experience sounds terrifying. Perhaps essay material for the future, but perhaps not.

I'm planning to iterate this essay based on your feedback, once I find time amidst the WOP chaos.

Thank you for taking the time to read, connect with me and give such thoughtful feedback. I appreciate you.

It happened too fast to be terrifying, Tommy, but it did hurt!

I was lucky, he only grazed my knee, so the bullet produced an intense burning sensation and didn't cripple me. All good!

Really enjoyed your essay and look forward to reading what you post next!

Thank you Alison :)

Storytelling is a very new skill for me, so I'm glad I did a somewhat decent job at painting the picture.

It was a difficult story to tell, but I've found that writing about the past can be healing in many ways. I appreciate your support.
